Principle Accredited Exercise Physiologist

As an Accredited Exercise Physiologists I like how we treat such a broad range of medical conditions on a daily basis, it keeps our job interesting and it’s very stimulating to me. I enjoy performing assessments on my clients and getting a clear understanding on how their body is functioning in terms of their movement, muscle imbalances, strength, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. One of the most rewarding achievements of my job is when my clients achieve positive health results from my individualised exercise programs.

My areas of interest in Exercise Physiology include: chronic lower back pain, pelvic instability and aged care. Since becoming a mother, I now have a clear understanding of how the body changes during and post pregnancy which has given me a new passion in my field for prescribing safe and correct exercises for pre, during and post pregnancy.

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist I really enjoy the challenge when I see a complex client with multiple conditions and am able to develop an exercise program that works for them to give them the best outcome and achieve their ultimate goals and improve their quality of life. I enjoy sharing my passion for health and fitness with clients of all ages and backgrounds and showing them that exercise can be used to treat or manage all conditions and is suitable for all ages.

I love the variety of Exercise Physiology in private practise; however I do have a particular interest in using exercise for pain management; particularly with the elderly, arthritis and fibromyalgia. I have also previously worked with children and adults with disabilities and have an interest in working with this demographic as well, particularly with conditions such as autism, cerebral palsy and Down Syndrome.

Qualifications and Accreditations:

  • Bachelor Applied Science (Human Movement & Health Studies)

  • Graduate Diploma Exercise Physiology (Clinical Exercise Physiology)

  • Accredited Exercise Physiologist through Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA)

  • Licensed Functional Capacity Evaluator (Workhab International)

  • Level 2 First Aid & CPR

  • Clinical Mat Pilates Instructor

Outside of work I love spending time with my family and friends. I also love keeping active & playing sport, mostly netball but have enjoyed trying out new sports in the past such as stand-up-paddle-boarding, water polo & touch football. I also love travelling throughout Australia and overseas when I get a chance.
