About us
What is an Exercise Physiologist?
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university-trained Allied Health Professional who specialises in how the body responds to physical activity. With 4–5 years of study focused on anatomy, physiology and exercise science, Exercise Physiologists understand how systems like the heart, muscles, lungs and nervous system adapt to movement over time.
How can an Exercise Physiologist help?
Exercise Physiologists use individualised, evidence-based exercise programs to help prevent and manage a wide range of health conditions, as well as support recovery from injury.
Whether it’s managing a chronic condition, improving mobility or building strength and resilience, exercise is used as a safe and effective form of therapy – often described as “exercise as medicine.”

You don’t need to be injured or unwell to see an Exercise Physiologist. Many people also work with us to improve their general fitness, health and wellbeing.
